Korçë will open the summer season this weekend with the 2026 International Carnival Festival, one of the city’s most popular celebrations. Mayor Sotiraq Filo shared the festival program on social media and invited residents and visitors to join the festivities.
“We invite everyone to become part of this colorful celebration filled with music and joy,” Filo said.
Furthermore, the festival will offer a full day of activities across the city. At 11:00 a.m., carnival groups will bring a festive atmosphere to the streets. They will follow a route from the Pedestrian Zone to Republic Boulevard.
Meanwhile, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Youth Center will host activities for children, including face painting.
At 7:00 p.m., the main Carnival Parade will begin. Participants will march from Lëndina e Lotëve through Republic Boulevard and continue to the Pedestrian Zone.
Finally, at 8:30 p.m., the celebration will move to the Old Bazaar of Korçë. There, visitors will enjoy the Carnival Party with live music and the vibrant atmosphere that has become a hallmark of the festival.
The event will bring together residents and tourists for a day of music, entertainment, colors, and community celebration, officially launching Korça’s summer tourism season.
