Nik Xhelilaj and Bleona Qereti host revived RTSH’s Spring Festival

TIRANA, June 6 – The Spring Festival returns to Albania after two decades. It takes place on June 6 and 7 at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana. The event brings together established and emerging artists.

Organisers present the festival as a revival of a major cultural tradition. They also describe it as a bridge between generations of Albanian music.

Actor Nik Xhelilaj and singer Bleona Qereti host the event. Xhelilaj says the festival combines modern staging with nostalgia. He adds that it keeps a strong focus on live performance energy. He also says the format allows closer interaction with artists during rehearsals and performances.

Qereti says the programme brings together key figures from Albanian music history. She highlights artists who shaped earlier generations of the country’s cultural scene. She stresses the need to reconnect younger audiences with earlier musical traditions. She also says the production keeps a modern stage approach and strong visual presence.

Qereti describes the festival as a balance between tribute and inspiration. She says it celebrates established works and supports new artistic expression.

Organisers say the Spring Festival highlights Albania’s musical heritage. They also say it strengthens links between historical repertoire and contemporary production.
