Digitrips/L’Écho: Albania ranked most affordable Mediterranean destination in ticket price barometer

TIRANA, June 9 – Albania stands out as one of the most attractive summer 2026 destinations, not only for its coastline and landscapes but also for increasingly competitive travel costs, Anna Duplantis writes in an article published by the French media outlet “Ulysse”. In addition, a price barometer by Digitrips and “L’Écho Touristique” shows a 31% drop in air ticket prices to Albania compared with the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the report places Albania among destinations with the strongest fare reductions in the French market. It links this trend to the expansion of low-cost airline routes and more direct connections with Western Europe. As a result, Albania is gaining ground among European travellers looking for affordable Mediterranean options.

At the same time, the analysis says lower prices increase travel opportunities while several regional destinations become more expensive. It also highlights that Albania offers a strong price-to-quality ratio in the Mediterranean. The report underlines clear-water beaches, unspoiled nature and lower costs compared with traditional tourist destinations.

Finally, the barometer says the price drop is driven by airline competition and efforts to stimulate demand during a slower booking period. In conclusion, it suggests current conditions create a favourable window for booking trips to Albania before prices rise again.
