TIRANA, June 12 – Albania’s General Directorate of Taxes and the Tax Administration of Kosova have reaffirmed their commitment to stronger strategic cooperation. The effort aims to modernize tax administration and improve institutional efficiency.
As part of the initiative, Albania’s Director General of Taxes, Ilir Binaj, paid a working visit to Prishtina. Tax Administration Director General Mentor Hyseni received Binaj and his delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed several strategic issues. They reviewed revenue collection strategies, taxpayer communication, and enforcement procedures. They also examined the management of unpaid tax liabilities and practices that support higher tax compliance and administrative efficiency.
Meanwhile, Hyseni praised the cooperation between the two institutions. He said the exchange of professional experience and expertise plays a key role in addressing common challenges and strengthening institutional capacities.
In addition, Binaj expressed readiness to deepen inter-institutional cooperation. He highlighted the importance of sharing best practices and coordinating efforts in areas of mutual interest.
At the same time, both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to joint activities and professional exchanges. They also pledged support for reforms that aim to improve institutional performance, strengthen tax compliance, and provide better services to taxpayers.
