Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, met today with the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States in Tirana, Nancy VanHorn.

The meeting took place in the context of the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States and the 104th anniversary of the recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations between Albania and the US.

During the discussion, Balla and VanHorn praised the strong relationship between the two countries, both bilaterally and within the framework of international organizations where they are allies.

Balla also emphasized that the strategic partnership with the United States remains a key priority for Albania, highlighting cooperation in strengthening the rule of law, consolidating democratic institutions, advancing the market economy, and supporting American investment in the country.

“As the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of its Independence and together we commemorate the 104th anniversary of the recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries, it is always productive to exchange views with the US Chargé d’Affaires in Tirana, Nancy VanHorn. Our cooperation with the United States is today at an excellent level in every bilateral aspect and within the organizations where we participate together, serving our strategic partnership, the strengthening of the rule of law, and the principles of a market economy, while supporting American interests and investments in Albania,” Balla wrote on social media.
