Defence Minister Nufi meets senior US official, highlights cooperation with United States

TIRANA, June 16 – Minister of Defence Ermal Nufi met in Washington with Mary Beth Morgan, acting director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The meeting took place during his official visit to the United States.

In a social media post, Nufi said the discussion focused on advancing projects of mutual interest for both countries.

He said strategic cooperation with the United States remains a key pillar for modernising the Armed Forces, strengthening defence capabilities, and enhancing Albania’s contribution within NATO.

The Defence Minister is in the United States as part of activities marking the 25th anniversary of the partnership between Albania and the New Jersey National Guard. The programme has contributed to strengthening defence capacity, security cooperation, and interoperability between the two allied countries.

During the week in the United States, Nufi has taken part in several events in New Jersey under the State Partnership Program anniversary. He has also held meetings in Washington and bilateral talks in the field of defence.
