Around 32,300 farmers have applied so far to benefit from Albania’s 2026 agricultural support schemes, for which a total fund of €52 million has been made available.
This year, financial support for livestock and beekeeping has been increased, while the minimum herd size required to qualify for assistance has been cut in half. Meanwhile, the fuel subsidy scheme will no longer be implemented as in previous years and will instead be covered through a 10% reimbursement of sales invoices.
A new measure introduced this year provides support of €100 per hectare for cultivated agricultural land, with a minimum eligible area of three hectares.
Specifically, livestock farmers with at least five registered cattle will receive 12,000 lek per head for their registered breeding stock. Beekeepers will receive 2,000 lek per beehive.
For the first time, support has also been introduced for breeding sows, with funding of up to 7,000 lek per animal.
The government has allocated 2.5 billion lek from the total fund to the investment support scheme, which includes grants of up to €10,000 for young farmers.
To qualify for the support measures, applicants must be up to date with their social security contributions.
The deadline for applications is June 26 through the e-Albania platform.
