Prime Minister Edi Rama attended the presentation of the five finalist projects for the new Aleksandër Moisiu University campus in Durrës.
The project aims to transform higher education and create a modern academic center that meets contemporary standards.
During the event, Rama said the new campus will bring together education, scientific research, innovation, entrepreneurship, culture, and student life in a single development ecosystem.
At the same time, he stressed that the project will not affect plans for university development in Tirana.
According to Rama, the government is currently coordinating the needs of the College of Europe and the University of Tirana. He noted that the College of Europe is under construction in Tirana and will become another major educational project.
Furthermore, he said the new development will create significant space opportunities for the University of Tirana.
The Durrës campus aims to provide modern facilities for students and academic staff. The project includes teaching spaces, research laboratories, innovation centers, cultural venues, and student services.
Meanwhile, the five finalist teams presented their architectural visions and proposals for the future campus.
Ultimately, authorities expect the project to become one of the most important university and urban developments in Albania.
