Finalist Teams Present Designs for New University Campus

Today, Prime Minister Edi Rama attended presentations by the five finalist teams in the international competition for the new Aleksandër Moisiu University campus in Durrës.

Earlier, the competition attracted 41 Albanian and international teams. After a rigorous selection process, organizers chose five finalists to present their projects.

The new campus aims to create a modern environment where education, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, culture, and student life work together in one dynamic ecosystem.

In addition, Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro, Durrës Mayor Emiriana Sako, and University Rector Shkëlqim Fortuzi joined the event.

During his remarks, Rector Fortuzi described the occasion as a turning point in the university’s transformation. He stressed that the project will strengthen cooperation between higher education, scientific research, and entrepreneurship.

Meanwhile, the finalist teams presented their visions for a contemporary campus that will promote knowledge, innovation, and academic excellence.

Furthermore, the project seeks to transform the university into a leading center for learning and innovation while supporting the city’s long-term development.

The finalist teams include 51N4E and Jeshile; BIG and its partners; FRPO Rodriguez & Oriol and partners; OZ and its international consortium; and Practica with its collaborating studios.

Finally, authorities expect the winning design to help shape a modern university campus and create new opportunities for students, researchers, and entrepreneurs.
