Albania’s Minister of Interior, Besfort Lamallari, held a meeting in The Hague with Eurojust President Michael Schmid. They discussed how to strengthen cooperation against cross-border crime.
During the meeting, Lamallari highlighted the strong partnership between Albania and Eurojust. Moreover, he noted that this cooperation already delivers concrete results in complex criminal investigations. These include drug trafficking, money laundering, and online fraud.
In addition, Lamallari praised Eurojust’s support for Albanian institutions. He also emphasized the important role of the Liaison Prosecutor in improving judicial cooperation with European Union member states.
Furthermore, the Minister stated that Albania will continue to act as a reliable partner in joint efforts for security, justice, and the rule of law. At the same time, he stressed that support for justice institutions remains essential for meeting European standards.
Finally, the meeting took place within the framework of ongoing cooperation between Albanian institutions and European justice agencies. This cooperation aims to further strengthen the fight against cross-border crime.
