Albania and Kosova strengthen border cooperation on food safety

TIRANA, June 26 – Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Andis Salla and Kosova’s Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development Minister Armend Muja inspected the Morina Border Inspection Point. The ministers reviewed bilateral cooperation on food safety and cross-border trade procedures.

Meanwhile, Salla said Albania and Kosova continue to strengthen institutional coordination. He said both countries are aligning border procedures and standards with European Union legislation. He added that the effort aims to build a more efficient border control system.

In addition, Salla said the cooperation supports food safety and consumer protection. He noted that the initiative also aims to speed up the movement of goods. It also seeks to reduce administrative barriers. According to Salla, both governments want to create better conditions for trade and economic exchange.

As a result, the inspection reflected closer cooperation between the responsible institutions in Albania and Kosova. The visit also demonstrated their joint commitment to apply European standards and improve the efficiency of border controls.
