Albania aims to complete its EU accession negotiations by the end of 2027. Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha confirmed this goal during the Dubrovnik Forum in Croatia.
First, Hoxha took part in a panel on the European Union and the Western Balkans. He said EU enlargement remains the strongest driver of democratic reform and long-term stability in the region.
In addition, he stressed that Albania’s path toward EU membership is clear. He said the country is committed to closing all negotiation chapters by 2027.
Furthermore, Hoxha highlighted the importance of regional cooperation. He said practical collaboration strengthens resilience, prosperity, and the European perspective of the Western Balkans.
At the same time, he underlined the need for strong bilateral relations among neighboring countries. He said good neighborly relations and dialogue are essential for stability and successful integration.
Moreover, he emphasized support for Kosovo. He said a stable and democratic Kosovo contributes to a stronger and safer Europe.
Finally, Hoxha reaffirmed that transatlantic relations remain a cornerstone of European security. He concluded that EU membership and transatlantic partnership are two sides of the same goal for peace and stability.
