Jonid Jorgji becomes member of European Film Academy

TIRANA, June 30 – The National Center of Cinematography announced Jonid Jorgji as a member of the European Film Academy. It confirmed his selection in an official statement.

In addition, the institution described the appointment as recognition of his contribution and vision in the audiovisual sector. It framed the membership as a step that strengthens the representation of the country’s film industry at international level.

The development comes during a broader period of reform in Albanian cinema. It also aligns with efforts to position the country as a stronger cinematographic hub. As a result, Albanian filmmakers gain increased visibility within European professional networks.

The European Film Academy brings together more than 5,700 film professionals across Europe. It promotes and supports European cinema. It was founded in 1989. It organizes the annual European Film Awards. It also works year-round to preserve film heritage and support audience education.
