Albania’s Council of Ministers has approved amendments to the Law on Chemical Management, further aligning the country’s legislation with European Union standards.
Minister of Environment Sofjan Jaupaj described the move as another concrete step toward Albania’s European Union membership.
According to Jaupaj, the draft law provides stronger protection for public health and the environment by introducing modern rules for the safe management of chemicals.
He said the legislation fulfills another commitment under Albania’s European Integration Work Plan and helps meet the obligations of Chapter 27 – Environment and Climate Change, bringing the country closer to EU membership.
