TIRANA, July 5 – Judicial reform remains one of Albania’s most significant achievements in recent years, according to Prime Minister Edi Rama in an interview with BBC News.
He said the justice system must operate independently and act without political influence.
Rama reiterated that judicial reform is a central milestone in the country’s transformation. He called for a justice system that “looks neither left nor right, but straight ahead”.
He added that justice must remain free from purchase, pressure or external control. He described this reform as the most important contribution the Socialist Party has made to the country.
BBC News, in coverage that also addressed debates on Zvërnec and related protests, highlighted Albania’s transformation over the past 13 years.
The report also pointed to developments in Tirana, the expansion of tourism and Albania’s progress toward European Union integration.
