The Albanian Football Federation continues major improvements at the “Air Albania” Stadium as the country prepares to host matches of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2027.
Workers have completed the removal of the old grass surface and carried out upgrades to the field’s foundation. They have now started installing the new pitch surface, while the next phase will include planting new grass to meet international standards.
Moreover, the project forms part of the federation’s wider strategy to modernize sports infrastructure across Albania and provide better facilities for football matches and events.
The “Air Albania” Stadium ranks among the four venues selected to host final tournament matches of EURO U-21 2027.
Therefore, the ongoing upgrades will help the stadium meet UEFA requirements and create a high-quality experience for teams, officials, and football fans.
