TIRANA, July 7 – Prime Minister Edi Rama presented a project for a new European-standard excellence hospital in Tirana. The San Donato Group will build the facility as part of efforts to transform healthcare services in Albania and the Western Balkans.
Rama said the hospital will create new opportunities for Albanian and regional patients. He added that the facility will treat complex diseases that have forced many citizens to seek medical care abroad.
The prime minister described the project as a new chapter for healthcare in Albania. He said the hospital will offer patients an alternative to travelling to Italy, Türkiye, and other countries for specialised treatment.
Meanwhile, Rama said the new institution aims to turn Albania into a regional healthcare destination. He highlighted the role of international expertise and advanced medical standards in this development.
The excellence hospital will operate through cooperation with the San Donato Group. It will provide specialised services and expand healthcare capacities in Albania. The project also aims to reduce the need for patients to seek treatment outside the country.
