Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj called on Albanian businesses to begin preparing for the European Union’s single market.
Speaking at a roundtable on the national program for business integration into the EU single market, Ibrahimaj said businesses must act now to seize future opportunities.
Furthermore, she said the government aims to build a more competitive economy and better prepare the private sector for EU membership.
The program will support around 48,000 businesses. It will assess their level of readiness and provide the financial and technical tools needed to meet European standards.
Moreover, Ibrahimaj said the government is working with international partners and the business community to create a sustainable support mechanism.
She added that the initiative will help Albanian companies increase their competitiveness, expand exports, and prepare for the EU single market.
Deputy Economy Minister Enkelejd Musabelliu and Chief EU Negotiator Majlinda Dhuka also attended the discussion.
