blog.google highlights Albania as a land of hidden wonders

According to blog.google, Albania stands out as a destination filled with hidden gems, rich history and breathtaking landscapes, where the Adriatic meets the heart of Southeast Europe.

Google’s Street View technology now allows locals and travellers to explore Albania digitally, from historic city centres to ancient stone walls overlooking turquoise waters. Google vehicles travelled more than 103,000 kilometres across the region to capture updated images and improve navigation on Google Maps.

The update makes it easier for users to discover lesser-known attractions and explore Albania’s changing urban and natural landscapes.

Visitors can now virtually walk through the vibrant streets of Tirana, experiencing its modern atmosphere and colourful architecture. The new Street View coverage also includes major coastal cities such as Durrës and Vlorë, showcasing the beauty of the Adriatic and Ionian shores.

For those interested in culture and history, Street View offers a renewed look at Berat, known as the “City of a Thousand Windows” and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Nature lovers can also explore the stunning details of the Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër), one of Albania’s most iconic natural monuments and a spectacular karst spring.

Through digital exploration, Google presents Albania as a country where history, culture and natural beauty come together to create unique experiences for visitors around the world.
