PM Rama tells CNN Turk Albania welcomes Turkish companies for investment

TIRANA, July 10 – Prime Minister Edi Rama gave an interview to CNN Turk, where he discussed the NATO Summit in Ankara, Albania–Turkey relations, regional developments, defence cooperation and tourism.

Rama said the summit showed the European wing of NATO’s determination to address security challenges and modernize its military capabilities.

He described Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a close friend and a strategic partner for Albania. Rama said the two countries share a strong relationship and have worked to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Meanwhile, the prime minister confirmed that Albania will host the next NATO Summit. He said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced the decision during a press conference, while technical planning issues remain under discussion.

Rama also highlighted the potential for stronger economic and defence cooperation with Turkey. He said Albania welcomes more Turkish companies that could develop their products in the country.

Speaking about the tourism project in Zvernec, Rama said the initiative remains in the preparation phase and there is no final project yet.

He welcomed environmental criticism but stressed that experts should guide the decision-making process. According to Rama, urban planners, environmental engineers and other specialists must assess the balance between environmental protection and economic development.

The prime minister added that public opinion would play an important role once authorities present a concrete project.

I have also removed the direct quote overload and converted statements into indirect speech, while keeping the political meaning and all key facts intact.
