Albania joins EUROGYM 2026 as leaders strengthen gymnastics cooperation

TIRANA, July 13 – Albania took part in EUROGYM 2026, Europe’s largest gymnastics festival for young people, held in Pistoia, Italy. More than 7,000 participants from across Europe attended the event.

The President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee, Fidel Ylli, attended the festival at the invitation of Italian Gymnastics Federation President Andrea Facci.

According to the Albanian National Olympic Committee, EUROGYM promoted the Olympic values of friendship, respect, inclusion and cooperation through performances and sporting activities.

Meanwhile, Ylli and Albanian Gymnastics Federation President Leonard Lulaj attended the opening ceremony. They also met senior European gymnastics officials to discuss stronger cooperation and the future development of the sport.

Albania’s participation came only weeks after the country secured the right to host the Tirana Golden Age Gym Festival 2028, one of Europe’s most prestigious gymnastics events. The festival is expected to bring thousands of athletes and participants from dozens of countries to the Albanian capital.

The Albanian National Olympic Committee said it will continue supporting national sports federations, strengthen international cooperation and promote Albania as a host of major European sporting events.
