TIRANA, July 14 – Albania takes another step in its European integration process today.
The country’s delegation joins the 9th Albania–European Union Intergovernmental Conference in Brussels.
The Agency for Media and Information said Prime Minister Edi Rama heads the Albanian delegation at the meeting.
The conference starts at 19:00. The two sides will hold a joint press conference at 20:00.
During the meeting, Albanian and EU representatives will formally close negotiations on three chapters. They include Chapter 25 – Science and Research, Chapter 26 – Education and Culture, and Chapter 30 – External Relations.
Meanwhile, the step highlights Albania’s progress in meeting EU membership requirements. The country has advanced through reforms and alignment with European standards.
In addition, the closure of the three chapters marks a new phase in the accession process. Albania moves from opening negotiation areas to provisionally closing them.
The development brings the country closer to its strategic goal of full EU membership.
