TIRANA, July 14 – Kolonja continues to attract French visitors with its traditional cuisine, unspoiled landscapes and cultural heritage, as culinary tourism gains popularity in southeastern Albania.
Visitors can explore historical sites and take part in traditional cooking experiences. Many learn how to prepare lakror [traditional Albanian pie], one of the area’s best-known dishes, before tasting local specialties.
Meanwhile, French tourists praised the region’s organic food, natural scenery and warm hospitality. They also highlighted Albania’s archaeological sites, local cuisine and welcoming atmosphere after travelling across the country. Several visitors said they planned to return.
In addition, local tour guide Klejdi Shtrembi said more French travellers now seek green tourism and authentic experiences with local communities. He noted that many visitors admire Albania’s untouched landscapes and the quality of its traditional food.
