Over 41,000 farmers apply for 2026 national support scheme

TIRANA, July 15 – More than 41,000 farmers have applied for the 2026 National Support Scheme, which includes 12 support measures for the agriculture sector.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Andis Salla met with farmers from Pogradec and Korça to discuss applications, sector challenges and financial support planned for 2026. The minister said applications closed on July 6 and highlighted the strong interest from farmers in both areas. The meeting also focused on farmers’ needs, increasing agricultural production and financial instruments for sustainable sector development.

Meanwhile, Salla encouraged farmers to benefit from additional support opportunities. These include 10% compensation on sales invoice values and soft loans backed by state guarantees. He said these instruments aim to facilitate investments, expand agricultural activities and strengthen farming businesses. The 2026 National Support Scheme is part of government policies to develop agriculture and improve the competitiveness of Albanian farmers.
