TIRANA, July 15 – The State Police and the U.S. International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) reaffirmed their strategic partnership, built over more than 30 years of cooperation.
State Police Director General Skënder Hita met with ICITAP Europe and Asia Programme Representative Alexzandria Burns and ICITAP Albania Programme Director Richard Deasy. The meeting focused on continuing and strengthening cooperation between the two sides.
According to the State Police, the partnership has supported institutional modernisation, professional capacity building, integrity strengthening and improved public service standards. Hita thanked ICITAP for its long-term technical assistance, strategic advice, training programmes and institutional development projects.
Meanwhile, the participants highlighted that cooperation with ICITAP, the United States Department of Justice and partner law enforcement agencies remains a strategic priority. The focus includes professional development, exchange of international practices, modern technologies and more effective efforts against crime.
The sides said the partnership, based on trust and professionalism, has delivered concrete results in strengthening public security and the rule of law. They also reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation and building a more modern, professional and citizen-oriented State Police.
