Karakaçi presents Albania’s Voluntary National Review on the 2030 Agenda at the UN

Infrastructure and Energy Minister Enea Karakaçi presented Albania’s Voluntary National Review (VNR) at the United Nations during the second day of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.

The report highlights Albania’s progress in implementing the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Karakaçi said Albania presented concrete results, important reforms, and a strong commitment to sustainable economic growth and inclusive social development.

He stressed that the report reflects both the country’s achievements and its responsibility to continue advancing reforms, strengthening cooperation, and ensuring that no one is left behind.

The minister said Albania shares this commitment with public institutions, international partners, civil society, academia, and citizens as part of a joint effort to achieve sustainable development goals.

The UN High-Level Political Forum serves as a key international platform for monitoring progress and discussing the implementation of the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda.

Prepared under the coordination of the State Agency for Strategic Programming and Aid Coordination (SASPAC), with support from the UN Office in Albania, the report evaluates progress since the country’s first review in 2018.

It also outlines priority actions to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda during the remaining five years before the deadline.

As Albania enters the final phase of the 2030 Agenda, the government highlights the need to speed up implementation, strengthen delivery mechanisms, and increase targeted investments to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
