Albania Achieves 80% Implementation of the EU Growth Plan

Albania has implemented around 80% of the reforms required under the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, placing the country among the region’s top performers.

The European Commission expects Albania to reach this milestone and ranks it alongside Montenegro as one of the best-performing countries in the Western Balkans. The achievement highlights Albania’s steady progress toward European Union membership.

The Albanian Media and Information Agency (MIA) reported the Commission’s assessment and cited Gert Jan Koopman, the European Commission’s Director-General for Enlargement.

Speaking at the European Parliament, Koopman praised Albania’s reform efforts.

“Albania and Montenegro lead the region in implementing the reforms under the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. Both countries are on track to complete around 80% of the planned reforms by June,” Koopman said.
