Seven Seas Splendor cruise ship makes first call at Port of Durrës

TIRANA, July 16 – The Seven Seas Splendor cruise ship, operated by Regent Seven Seas Cruises, arrived at the Port of Durrës for the first time with about 650 passengers on board.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images of the ship’s arrival on social media. He said company representatives praised the port’s facilities and services. The visit also featured the traditional “Maiden Call” ceremony.

Meanwhile, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has included Durrës in its itineraries for several years. This season, the company introduced a new service by embarking 80 passengers from the Port of Durrës.

The “Maiden Call” ceremony took place on board the vessel. Executive Director of the Port Authority of Durrës Liburn Aliu and Port Captain Taulant Allka attended the event.

During their stay in Albania, passengers will visit several of the country’s leading historical and archaeological attractions. The programme includes the ancient city of Durrës, Kruja Castle and the UNESCO-listed museum city of Berat.

In addition, the growing number of cruise ship arrivals in Durrës reflects continued growth in Albania’s maritime tourism sector and increasing tourism revenues.
