The National Center of Cinematography brought together film professionals to discuss how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the audiovisual industry and why Albania needs a clear legal framework for its use.
During a roundtable held as part of the International AI Film Festival, filmmakers and experts, including director Fatmir Koçi, professor Shpend Bengu, producer Vjollca Dedei, Adrian Grezda, and Marjela Zajmi, explored the opportunities and challenges that AI creates for cinema.
National Center of Cinematography Chair Jonid Jorgji called for new rules to regulate AI-based creativity and protect authors’ rights. He said filmmakers should use AI as a supportive tool that enhances creativity and strengthens the industry.
Jorgji also emphasized the need to train and educate cinema professionals so they can effectively use emerging technologies.
Participants highlighted that AI can improve film production, introduce new creative methods, and help Albania’s audiovisual industry compete internationally.
They agreed that preparing filmmakers for technological change will play a key role in shaping the future of cinema.
