PM Rama: “Double Your Enterprise” program to support small and medium-sized businesses

TIRANA, July 17 – Prime Minister Edi Rama said the national program “Double Your Enterprise” will support joint ventures in rural areas between private entities, farmers, and small and medium-sized businesses.

Speaking at the presentation event of the program, Rama said rural development remains a priority, especially through the promotion of agro-processing, which still has significant growth potential.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said the scheme will also encourage businesses linked to tourism. He stressed that the program targets small and medium-sized enterprises and does not include large companies.

Rama said the government has closed all possible channels that could allow large businesses to benefit from the scheme. He added that Minister of Local Government Ervin Demo will coordinate the cooperation between municipalities and rural joint ventures.

According to Rama, the program’s financing lines aim to increase productivity, which he described as one of the main challenges facing the Albanian economy.

In addition, the Prime Minister said the scheme will support the processing industry, transport and logistics, as well as technology and the digital economy.

Rama added that many businesses can move to a higher level of development through targeted financial support.
