Canadian experts train Albanian firefighters to strengthen emergency response

TIRANA, July 22 – The Canadian mission “Firefighters Without Borders Canada” is conducting a national training program in Albania in cooperation with Albanian fire protection and rescue institutions.

Minister of State for Local Government Ervin Demo said the program aims to strengthen firefighters’ professional capacities and improve preparedness for emergency situations.

Canadian experts, led by Robert Dubbert, completed the first phase of the training with firefighters in Berat. During the program, participants exchanged international experiences and best practices for responding to fires, floods, road accidents and other emergency situations.

Meanwhile, the initiative will continue in other municipalities across Albania, involving firefighters from several cities.

According to Demo, the cooperation focuses on improving professional skills, increasing operational readiness and ensuring a faster and more effective response to protect citizens’ lives and safety.
