TIRANA, July 22 – Authorities have restored normal operations after heavy rainfall and strong winds affected several areas of Albania on Tuesday evening. The storm caused temporary disruptions to electricity supply, water services and some infrastructure.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy said that responsible institutions remained on the ground to address the consequences. The Albanian Road Authority confirmed that all national roads remained open, while teams cleared fallen stones and materials from affected sections.
Meanwhile, 21 electricity feeders remain out of service, mainly in Vlora, Fier, Saranda and Librazhd. More than 1,000 employees of the Electricity Distribution Operator are working to restore full power supply. The transmission network and the Drin river cascade continue normal operations.
Water supply services have also returned to normal in most affected areas. Some temporary issues affected pumping stations in Saranda, Fier and Durrës. However, Patos remains without water because the Varibopa pumping station still lacks electricity.
Tirana International Airport reported only minor delays on incoming flights. In Durrës Port, the storm caused several empty containers to fall, while other port operations continue normally. Saranda Port has also resumed regular activity.
