Mountain Economy Development: Albania Approves Four Priority Zones in Shkodër

The Council of Ministers today approved sweeping amendments to expand Albania’s priority mountain economy zones across the Shkodër municipality.

The decision designates four distinct territories for targeted economic growth and infrastructure support:

  • Zone No. 6 (4,667 hectares): Encompasses the villages of Nderlysaj, Lekaj, Gimaj, Nënmavriq, Nicaj-Shale, Abat, Pecaj, Vuksanaj, and Lotaj.

  • Zone No. 7 (4,458 hectares): Covers the Shosh administrative unit, incorporating the villages of Ndrejaj, Nikaj-Shosh, Palaj, Pepsumaj, and Brashtë.

  • Zone No. 8 (11,080 hectares): Expands across the Pult administrative unit, uniting the villages of Pog, Kir, Gjuraj, Plan, Xhan, Bruçaj, and Mgull.

  • Zone No. 9 (3,183 hectares): Spans the Postribë administrative unit, securing development status for the villages of Drisht, Ura e Shtrenjtë, Domen, and Prekal.
