Navigation suspended in Vlora and Saranda due to rough sea conditions

TIRANA, July 24 – Port authorities in Vlora and Saranda have suspended navigation for small vessels, tourist boats and fishing vessels due to worsening sea conditions along the Albanian coast.

The Port Captaincies said the measure will remain in force until 06:00 on July 25, 2026.

The General Maritime Directorate reported strong north–northwesterly winds, reaching 6–7 Beaufort (15–25 m/s). Wave heights are expected to range from 1.50 to 3.50 metres.

Meanwhile, vessel owners, operators and captains must secure their boats in ports and follow instructions issued by the Port Captaincies.

International transport vessels will continue normal operations, according to the authorities.

The situation is expected to improve after 06:00 on July 25, 2026.
