Enkelana Marathon Returns to Pogradec

The Enkelana Marathon returns to Pogradec this weekend, combining sports competition with tourism promotion and the celebration of the region’s natural beauty.

The half-marathon will take place along the shores of Lake Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Participants will run through a scenic route featuring crystal-clear waters, unique landscapes, and views of the surrounding mountains.

Organizers have prepared two race categories: a 21.1-kilometer half-marathon and an 11.5-kilometer race. The event welcomes both experienced runners and those taking part in their first race.

Beyond the sporting challenge, the marathon aims to promote Pogradec’s hospitality, traditional cuisine, and tourism potential. Every participant who completes the race will receive the official Enkelana Marathon medal.

With the slogan “More than a race. A destination,” the event offers more than a competition. It creates a unique experience for runners who want to explore Pogradec’s beauty while running along the shores of Lake Ohrid.
