Tourists Discover the Deep Blue Beauty of the Shalë River

The Shalë River has become one of Albania’s most attractive destinations for local and international tourists in recent years. The untouched nature, crystal-clear waters and adventure activities attract visitors, especially during the summer months from June to August.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images from the Shalë River, showing tourists enjoying one of Albania’s most unique holiday experiences. The river rises at the foot of the Albanian Alps and stretches 37 kilometres from its source at Mount Radohina to the Drin River.

The Shalë River stands out for its deep blue waters and breathtaking landscapes. The river hosts various fish species, with trout being the most common. Trout live only in freshwater environments.

The cold blue water, surrounded by steep rocky cliffs that seem to reach the sky, creates a spectacular natural setting for visitors.
