The ‘Blue Eye’ in Saranda remains one of Albania’s most beautiful natural wonders

TIRANA, July 27 – The “Blue Eye” Natural Park in Saranda continues to attract domestic visitors and foreign tourists during this summer season.

On Monday, Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage from the site on social media, showing the area filled with visitors. He described the destination as one of Albania’s most beautiful natural wonders.

Meanwhile, tourists have gathered around the spring to enjoy its cold waters, take photos and experience traditional cuisine in the surrounding area.

Located near Muzina village, the “Blue Eye” lies along the Delvina-Gjirokastër national road, about 30 minutes from Saranda.

The site represents one of Albania’s important natural assets. In January 2022, authorities granted the area a higher protection status by designating it a “Natural Park”.

As a result, the protected area expanded to 293 hectares. The measure aims to strengthen protection of the natural monument that shares the same name and is located within the park.
