TIRANA, July 30 – The Special Operations Regiment (ROS) in Zall Herr completed the “Commando” and “Reconnaissance Operator” courses with a graduation ceremony.
Defense Minister Ermal Nufi, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Arben Kingji, senior military officials, service members and relatives attended the event.
Trainees and ROS personnel presented operational demonstrations. They showed survival skills, reconnaissance techniques, target surveillance and building intervention procedures. They also demonstrated the use of unmanned systems, battlefield extraction, weapons training and hand-to-hand combat.
Nufi congratulated the trainees for completing two of the Armed Forces’ most demanding courses. He said their achievement reflected discipline, professionalism and commitment.
Meanwhile, the minister said technology, artificial intelligence, unmanned systems and hybrid threats are changing modern conflicts. He added that military forces need readiness, professionalism and adaptability.
The minister described ROS as a leading operational unit of the Armed Forces. He said Albania continues to modernize its military and strengthen its contribution to NATO’s collective defense.
Later, the ceremony included the trainees’ oath, the symbolic awarding of Blue Berets and the distribution of certificates to outstanding participants. Nufi and Kingji also visited the ROS headquarters to review its missions, capabilities and development priorities.
