Rama Unveils “Loyal Presence” Document to Launch a New Phase for the Socialist Party

Prime Minister Edi Rama presented the “Loyal Presence” document to Socialist Party political leaders and parliamentary committee chairs, describing it as a roadmap for a new phase in the party’s development.

Rama said the document places respect, listening, empathy, solidarity, responsiveness and dedication to citizens at the center of the party’s work. He invited party members to contribute suggestions while preserving the document’s core spirit.

First, he called on the party to make listening a fundamental discipline. He urged members to listen not only during campaigns or public events, but continuously and sincerely throughout the year.

Furthermore, Rama described empathy as a source of strength rather than weakness. He stressed that citizens who share their concerns place their trust and dignity in the hands of public representatives. Therefore, he said, politicians must treat those concerns with seriousness and respect.

At the same time, Rama emphasized solidarity. He argued that the party must serve every citizen regardless of political affiliation, past choices or personal beliefs. According to him, public service should focus on people’s needs rather than political labels.

He also called for greater accountability and responsiveness. Rama stated that party representatives should never ignore citizens’ requests and should always provide clear answers, whether positive or negative. He argued that unresolved problems become even more frustrating when institutions fail to respond.

Moreover, Rama urged party officials to lead by example and support internal criticism as a tool for improvement. He encouraged open discussion within the party while promoting unity and responsibility in public.

Looking ahead, Rama called for greater participation from young people and new voices. He stressed the need to attract fresh energy and ideas while strengthening the connection between party structures and local communities.

Finally, Rama said the new document complements the previously introduced “Besa” platform. While “Besa” focuses on keeping promises made to citizens through government action, “Loyal Presence” focuses on the party’s commitment to remain present, accessible and accountable to the public. He concluded by warning that many successful political movements lost support after they stopped listening, and urged the Socialist Party to avoid that mistake.
