TIRANA, July 31 – Prime Minister Edi Rama said Albania is developing new defence industry capacities. He said the country plans to produce intelligent drones and advanced military equipment. Rama spoke at the ceremony for the delivery of tactical vehicles from “Timak Defence”. He said Albania would soon present more products for security and defence needs.
Meanwhile, Rama said Albania plans to use “Made in Albania” superintelligent drones for air defence during the NATO Summit, where US President Donald Trump will also attend. He added that Albania is preparing to acquire advanced air defence systems. The prime minister said these efforts aim to strengthen the country’s defence capabilities through new technologies.
Earlier, Rama said the state-owned company KAYO will coordinate the development of Albania’s defence industry. He explained that the company will manage cooperation with international partners. Rama also said Albania wants to increase domestic production and build stronger defence capacities that meet NATO standards.
