Authorities have discovered another mass grave containing the remains of victims of the Kosovo war. The site lies in the village of Jabukë, in Zubin Potok Municipality.
Acting Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla announced the discovery. He noted that authorities found the site just days after uncovering another mass grave in the nearby village of Kalludër. Meanwhile, investigators continue their work at that location.
Sveçla thanked the Kosovo Police, the war crimes investigation units, the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, the Institute of Forensic Medicine, and the State Prosecutor of Kosovo for identifying and investigating the sites.
Furthermore, Sveçla accused Serbia of refusing to cooperate in efforts to determine the fate of people who disappeared during the Kosovo war.
He also claimed that Serbia continues to withhold information about missing persons. In addition, he alleged that Serbian authorities intimidate and imprison citizens who help locate mass graves.
Finally, Sveçla said Kosovo’s institutions will continue searching for those who remain missing. At the same time, they will pursue justice for the victims and hold those responsible for war crimes accountable.
