TIRANA, August 3 – Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja announced the start of site preparations for the restoration of the Muradie Mosque in Vlora. He shared the update in a video published on Facebook.
Meanwhile, Gonxhja described the mosque as one of Albania’s most important monuments of Ottoman architecture. He said the project aims to preserve and restore the site while protecting its historical, architectural and cultural values.
The Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage in Vlora is supervising the preparatory works. The National Institute of Cultural Heritage prepared the restoration project in cooperation with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency. Restoration work will begin soon. The project will follow modern conservation standards and preserve the monument’s authenticity.
