‘Double Your Entrepreneurship’ program offers up to €2 million loans for agri-tourism and agri-processing

TIRANA, August 3 – Businesses seeking to expand their activity can benefit from loans of up to €2 million through the government program “Double Your Entrepreneurship”.

During a visit to a milk processing factory in Pogradec, Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu said the program supports businesses in agrotourism and agro-processing. She added that it aims to boost investment, modernization and competitiveness.

Koçiu said the program provides loans with easier conditions for up to 10 years. The interest rate ranges from 2% to 3%. She also highlighted the sovereign guarantee scheme, which allows the government to cover up to 70% of collateral requirements.

Meanwhile, the program has started with a €250 million fund. Koçiu said the government aims to increase support to €1 billion if businesses show interest and the program delivers positive results. She added that dedicated platforms will assist companies with applications, documentation and technical procedures.

The deputy prime minister also referred to investments at the Pogradec milk processing factory. She said automation will improve product quality, reduce costs and create a closed production cycle. The factory started operations in 1992 with a capacity of 15,000 litres of milk. Today, it cooperates with around 400 local farmers and uses modern technology.

In addition, Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Andis Salla stressed the importance of technology investments. He said they will help strengthen food safety and prepare Albanian products for foreign markets.
