Voskopoja blends history, nature and hospitality for visitors

TIRANA, August 4 – The mountain village of Voskopoja in Korça continues to attract visitors from around the world. The destination has become a year-round tourist attraction.

Once one of the most important cultural, artistic and historical centers in the Balkans, Voskopoja remains a symbol of Balkan and European heritage. The village offers visitors nature, history and cultural experiences in every season.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images from Voskopoja during the summer season. He said the village combines history, nature and hospitality into a unique experience for every visitor. Tourists visit the area’s churches and monasteries throughout the year.

Among Voskopoja’s main attractions are its historic religious monuments. The churches of St. Nicholas, St. Mary, St. Elijah, St. Prodhrom, St. Thanasi and St. Michael have preserved important architectural and cultural values. Authorities have continued restoration and preservation efforts for these first-category cultural monuments.

Visitors can also enjoy traditional food in Voskopoja. Local restaurants offer dishes such as lakror (pie) and other specialties prepared with organic products from the village.
