TIRANA, August 4 – Albanian Customs is managing heavy summer travel flows with 24-hour service and efficient border procedures, Finance Minister Petrit Malaj said.
Malaj noted that more than 1.8 million passengers travelled through Tirana International Airport during July. The airport also handled about 9,500 flights, reflecting the peak of the summer tourist season.
Meanwhile, Albania’s seaports also recorded strong passenger traffic. The Port of Durrës processed about 111,000 passengers and 40,000 vehicles. The Port of Saranda handled 131,000 passengers and 250 vehicles, while the Port of Vlora recorded 17,000 passengers and about 5,000 vehicles.
The minister said Albanian Customs operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He added that the service ensures smooth and secure movement for passengers and vehicles at every border crossing.
Malaj also encouraged travellers to review customs rules before their journeys. He said the Passenger Customs Manual is available through a QR code and on the official Albanian Customs website. The guide helps passengers understand customs procedures, avoid delays and enjoy a smoother border crossing.
