The National Cyber Security Authority (AKSK) announced that a total of 14,628,595 cyberattack attempts targeting Albania’s cyber ecosystem infrastructure were recorded during the first half of 2026, covering the period from January to June.
According to AKSK, this is equivalent to approximately 56.4 cyberattack attempts every minute.
Of the total number of attempts, 54% targeted important information infrastructure, while 46% were directed at critical information infrastructure.
The attacks targeted various sectors, including the financial sector, public administration, digital infrastructure, the energy sector, and other key industries.
The National Cyber Security Authority stated that it continues to monitor cyber threats continuously and strengthen protective measures in order to enhance the resilience and security of the country’s information infrastructure.
