TIRANA, August 4 – The Port of Durrës processed 2,057,526 tonnes of cargo during January–June 2026, marking a 7.2% increase compared with the same period of 2025.
According to the Port Authority of Durrës, imports accounted for 1,430,236 tonnes of the total volume, while exports reached 627,290 tonnes. Export activity increased by 39% compared with the first six months of last year.
The Container Terminal handled 1,285,258 tonnes of containerised goods during this period, registering a 32.5% rise year-on-year. Imports grew by 20%, while exports increased by 70%.
The terminal processed 132,939 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units), including 67,530 TEU of imports and 65,399 TEU of exports. The figure represents a 28% increase compared with the same period in 2025.
Meanwhile, the Ferry Terminal recorded 448 sailings during the first half of the year. It handled 236,683 passengers and 102,313 vehicles, with these indicators declining by around 2% compared with the same period last year.
The six-month data show the performance of cargo handling, container traffic and ferry operations at the Port of Durrës, a key maritime transport hub for Albania.
