A large fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in an olive grove located about 100 meters from the Elbasan–Mjekës–Cërrujë–Gramsh 400 kV substation, raising concerns due to its proximity to critical power infrastructure.
The blaze burned an area of olive trees, while thick smoke spread across the surrounding area. However, thanks to the swift response of firefighters and emergency services, the fire was successfully contained and fully extinguished, preventing it from spreading to nearby land or posing a threat to the electrical substation.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. Authorities are expected to launch an investigation to determine the origin of the blaze.
