TIRANA, August 6 – August has brought the peak of the tourist season to Theth, one of the most visited destinations in the Albanian Alps. Around 2,000 tourists stay in the village each night on average, and most of them are foreign visitors. Besides the Grunas Waterfall and the Alp’s Blue Eye, the Theth–Valbona hiking trail remains one of the area’s most popular attractions.
Meanwhile, visitors from different countries praised the area’s natural beauty. Tourists from Israel said they discovered Theth through online searches and described it as a destination they would recommend. They also said they planned to hike to Valbona before continuing their trip to Montenegro.
In addition, the village’s zipline has attracted growing interest for a second consecutive year. Visitors said the attraction offers an exciting experience, while families have also chosen to try it during their stay.
Tourism operators reported a successful season and said demand for Theth continues to grow. Local operator Fatmir Breishta said this summer has outperformed last year. He added that foreign tourists have dominated visitor numbers, while Albanian visitors have accounted for only a small share. He also expects the tourist season to last longer than in previous years.
Theth remains one of Albania’s leading mountain destinations, offering visitors a combination of nature, adventure and traditional hospitality.
