TIRANA, August 7 – The Central Purchasing Operator (OBP) launched a new electronic procurement platform to fully digitalize the management of public procurement requests, Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj said.
Ibrahimaj said the new platform, prokurimet.obp.al, will allow more than 250 contracting authorities to manage procurement requests entirely online. Institutions will prepare, sign and seal procurement documents electronically through the system.
Meanwhile, the platform removes the need to print and submit paper documents. The new system aims to speed up procurement procedures and improve administrative efficiency.
According to the minister, the platform will reduce paperwork and administrative costs. It will also provide standardized communication between public institutions and allow authorities to monitor procurement requests in real time.
In addition, every action in the process will remain fully traceable. Ibrahimaj said this feature will strengthen transparency and accountability throughout the procurement process.
She added that the platform establishes a new standard of cooperation between contracting authorities and the Central Purchasing Operator. It also changes the way institutions submit and manage procurement requests.
Ibrahimaj said the digital system will save time and resources, simplify procedures and support the timely procurement of works, goods and services. She added that faster and more transparent procedures will help improve public services for citizens.
